Professor of Political Economy at the University of Chieti-Pescara.
He has made extensive research on Italy’s long-run economic growth and the North-South divide, publishing in several international and Italian journals. His books include Perché il Sud è rimasto indietro (2013), Ascesa e declino. Storia economica d’Italia (2015), Storia economica della felicità (2017). He has taken part in more than one hundred conferences, invited lectures and seminars, in four continents. In 2013, he won the «Hamilton Prize» of the Spanish Association of Economic History, for the best article published in international journals.
