Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Pisa, and term lecturer in Economic History at the University of Insubria, Varese.

He graduated in History at the University of Florence, and received a MA in Accounting, Auditing and Control from Bocconi University (Milan), and a PhD in Economics from the University of Siena. His main research interests are financial and international history. He is currently studying the dynamics of international trade in the long run, with a particular focus on the determinants of bilateral trade. Other fields of interests include privatisations in the Italian industrial sectors and some topics in the history of economic thought.
