Assistant Professor of Economic History at the University of Siena.
He is currently teaching Economic History at the undergraduate level and within the PhD programme in Economics. His research explores the formation of institutions, human capital and social capital in the long run, and the impact of such factors on regional economic growth in Italy as well as other world regions. His work has been published in the Economic History Review, the Journal of Economic History, the European Review of Economic History, Cliometrica and the Journal of Interdisciplinary History.
